Every license includes free image updates within your major version (1.x → 1.y → 1.z) forever. We push new tags to GitHub Container Registry; your install pulls them via Railway redeploy or `docker compose pull`. Major-version upgrades stay free at our discretion — historically we have not charged for them.

A single host name where Maillayer is publicly reachable (e.g. mail.example.com). Internal subdomains, staging environments, and dev installs that don't accept production traffic don't count. Each Maillayer install handles unlimited brands — the domain count is about how many installs you can run.

Yes. Email us with your purchase email and the tier you want; we'll send a payment link for the difference and update your token. No data migration needed — same install, same database, more domain headroom.

No free trial — but we offer the 30-day refund, which is effectively a generous trial. The full feature set is included on every tier; you can install, test, and refund if it doesn't fit.

Anything that speaks SMTP, plus native API support for Amazon SES, SendGrid, and Mailgun. You connect your own provider account; Maillayer sends through it. We never charge per email — your provider does, at their normal rates.

Not for the Railway one-click install — that flow is point-and-click. For VPS install, you need to know how to SSH and paste a single curl command. Beyond that, Maillayer is operated entirely through the dashboard.

You restore from a backup. Maillayer takes nightly VACUUM-INTO snapshots inside the volume. If the volume itself dies, you need an off-volume backup — see /docs/backups for the rsync-to-S3 recipe.
